Woke up with a splitting headache. Once I got up (early, to go pick up my bib number and race packet), the headache decided to add some nausea to the mix.
So far: Natalie 0, puking 3
The day before the marathon should be all about rest, hydration and continuing to eat a high percentage of carbs. My day before the marathon (at least, as of noon, which is now) has indeed been about rest, but what little hydration and carbs I've been able to take in have come right back out.
I still have my hopes for tomorrow, but I'm also trying to be realistic. This happens to me every blue moon: a pukey day for no real reason. In college, it was after consuming mass quantities. Not so much anymore. I had one beer and a bit of wine. So I'm sure that it's not that. Send happy thoughts, ok?
Posted by natalie at October 29, 2005 12:05 PM | TrackBackI'm sorry. I hope you feel better for race day, and I admire your determination. Good luck.
I would curl up on the couch with saltines and wimper!
Posted by: shan at October 30, 2005 12:07 PMOh no! I hope you feel better; and if you don't I promise to watch you run 26 miles without a bib? (Sounds a little bit like a migraine. . . Stay indoors!)
